Often referred to as “classic massage,” Swedish Massage has been proven helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function in patients with osteoarthritis. With just a single one-hour session, stress is immediately reduced by lowering the heart rate and mitigating elevated levels of insulin and cortisol.
Massage also improves blood circulation, leading to lower blood pressure and improved body functions. The techniques we use during all Relaxation and Swedish Massage sessions facilitate blood flow through congested areas, releasing pressure and allowing new blood to flow through various targeted areas. When the muscles are gently pulled and squeezed, using specific strokes of modulating intensity, lactic acid is flushed from the muscles, contributing to the improved functioning of the lymphatic system.
Our therapists will first assess your specific needs, to then apply the five basic strokes of Swedish Massage in a carefully orchestrated progression in order to reduce pain and stress, and to immediately revive circulation and toxin release.
